Edinson Cavani wants Real Madrid move?

Edinson Cavani‘s father has said that  striker is interested in Real Madrid move, as he is unhappy with his role at Paris Saint-Germain.

“I want him to win the Champions  League, but he has to play for one of the few teams who can do so,” he said. “You have to go to Barcelona, Real or Manchester, who invest in order to be European champions. It’s like with our national team — I always say that even our grandchildren won’t see them winning the World Cup.”

“PSG can win titles in France,” he said. “They are not quick enough or lively enough. They are a slow team. When they play in the Champions League, you can see the problems. They will win everything in France, but you have to accept that winning the Champions League will be very difficult.

“We’ve heard that teams are interested. Manchester United are always mentioned in transfer windows. There are always reports that Real Madrid and Man United want him, but in the end it comes to nothing. It’s more down to spin than real negotiation between clubs.
“I was lucky enough to talk to the PSG president. He told me that they expect a lot from Edi, that he loves him and doesn’t want to sell him because great things are ahead. When you hear that, it means that moving to another club will be difficult. But football is about businessmen and business nowadays. They tell you that someone won’t be sold, but then someone appears with money, and they are sold.”

I think he can play for any team in the world. He can be important for any team. A lot of managers talk about him. They say, ‘We need a striker like Cavani.’
“[Diego] Simeone has always wanted him at Atletico Madrid. The problem is that Atletico are not strong enough financially to buy players like my son — I am talking about price and not professional level. They are up there as far as the price is concerned, and it is difficult.

“Maybe a big team will pay for him. Manchester United or Real Madrid. Real have a good team and good players, but maybe not enough players because they play in a lot of competitions. Wherever he goes, the family will be behind him.”

“They signed him as a central striker, but now he plays in a position that he is not supposed to fill.

“He isn’t as useful to the team as he could be — that’s his feeling at times. That’s why he is uncomfortable at times. That’s natural for a footballer.”

He added: “The problem is that PSG have a striker that can only play centrally. Zlatan can’t play on the wings, and therefore it is logical that they sacrifice Edi. As long as Zlatan is there, Edi will always play on the wings. It is obvious that he would be more useful in the centre. He is a born scorer. Even on the wing he scores 19-20 goals a season.”
